Threat detection startup appoints former U.S. House chief of staff as CMO

TAMPA, Fla. – Trace Eye-D, a South Florida security technology company, has hired former U.S. House of Representatives chief of staff and seasoned lobbyist, Rob Hartwell, to serve as its chief marketing officer, the company announced on Monday.

Hartwell, a Palmetto resident, began his new expanded role at Trace Eye-D, headquartered in Manatee County, Monday. Earlier this year, Trace Eye-D initially retained Harwell to serve as Trace Eye-D’s head of governmental affairs by signing on as a client of Hartwell Capitol Consulting.

Hartwell brings over 33 years of hands-on Congressional, political and legislative experience, serving on Capitol Hill in 1978 and from 1983 through 1993, and since then has worked within the private sector in key lobbying and political leadership positions.

During Hartwell’s career on Capitol Hill he played a key role as chief of staff to Congressman Dick Schulze, (R-PA) a senior Member of the House Committee on Ways and Means. He was also a Legislative Assistant for Congressman Mike Oxley (R-OH).

“Rob has played a pivotal role in the substantial growth of Trace Eye-D so far, and now as an official officer of the company, we are excited to expand on this success,” said Chris Baden, president, of Trace Eye-D. “We are on the verge of some amazing developments for Trace Eye-D’s threat detection technology, and are planning for a busy 2018.”

Trace Eye-D has positioned itself to become a major player in the security technology industry. This year, the company successfully completed field trials with federal government agencies and was named as one of the top innovative companies in the Tampa Bay area by Innovate Tampa Bay.

“This is a great opportunity to work with a family owned small business dedicated to saving lives and protecting our national security,” said Hartwell.
