How it works

Open the pouch.Screen the sample.Read the color.

Trace Eye-D wipes use product-specific colorimetric chemistry for portable presumptive screening. Each product has its own activation method, target category, positive color, and reading window.

Two activation methods

Ready when opened, or activated first.

F1 demonstrates the one-part workflow. M39 demonstrates the two-part, snap-activate workflow. C34 starts like F1; W42 starts like M39.

One-part demonstration

Open and wipe.

F1 and C34 are ready when the pouch is opened.

Two-part demonstration

Snap, then open.

M39 and W42 require activation of the inner seal before opening.

The method

Open. Wipe. Look.

The workflow stays straightforward while the activation and result color remain specific to each product.

01

Open.

Review the product instructions. Open at the tear notch, or complete the stated activation step before opening.

02

01Use the correct instructions.

Activation, approved contact, and reading windows differ by product.

02Read the stated color.

A positive reaction is specific to the product being used.

03Treat the result as presumptive.

The wipe provides screening information, not laboratory confirmation.

Result boundaries

Know what the result means.

Trace Eye-D supports fast field screening. Product instructions and established protocols still govern how the wipe is used and what happens next.

Presumptive screening

A visible reaction provides a presumptive result for the product's detection category.

Laboratory confirmation

Laboratory confirmation is required for evidentiary or diagnostic purposes.

Skin contact

F1 is the only Trace Eye-D wipe approved for direct skin contact when used as directed.

No sweat testing

No Trace Eye-D product is approved for sweat testing. Follow the approved use for each product.

Presumptive screening only. Laboratory confirmation is required for evidentiary or diagnostic purposes. Follow agency protocol and product instructions.
